How Do Vermonters Enjoy Local Food?

Vermonters were farming, gardening, fishing, and hunting long before there were craft beers and gourmet burgers. Consumer demand research conducted by the Vermont Farm to Plate Networkshows that Vermonters would like to see local food more connected to Vermont traditions.

That's where #RootedinVermont comes in and
we hope you will help spread the word!

#RootedinVermont is a new social media initiative organized by the Vermont Farm to Plate Network to celebrate how Vermonters enjoy local food. Launched last month, #RootedinVermont already has hundreds of Vermont fans on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.

We want to show how Vermonters from all regions of the state engage with local food - whether it's through purchasing groceries at a farm stand, catching fish to grill for dinner, harvesting a bounty of vegetables from the garden, enjoying Vermont products in the great outdoors, or sharing food in the community with friends and neighbors.

Whether you have your own version of a "buy local" campaign or you just love to celebrate all the delicious aspects of what it means to live and work in Vermont, we invite you, your employees, your community, or your company's marketing department to participate in #RootedinVermont by engaging with the growing social media community and sharing photos or videos of Vermonters enjoying local food.

#RootedinVermont is also an opportunity for you to get in front of new audiences, have fun with word-of-mouth marketing, and expand your own business or organizational social networks. The whole state is coalescing around the theme of #RootedinVermont food.
