Dairy Margin Protection Program Sessions Planned for Five Vermont Locations

On Sept. 1 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the rules for the new dairy margin protection program authorized by the 2014 Farm Bill. To help dairy farmers understand these rules and learn how the program works, free informational workshops will be offered at several Vermont locations in October.

The workshops will focus on long-term storage of crops for sale through the winter and into early spring, but will be relevant to many agricultural and food storage needs.
