Flexible; must live in New England
Mar / 20 / 2018
Farm to Institution New England (FINE) is a six-state network of nonprofit, public, and private entities working collaboratively to mobilize the power of New England institutions to transform our food system. FINE works to connect supply and demand via three core functions: convening, communications, and metrics. Beyond FINE’s core functions, we also take on special projects. These projects address select situations where FINE identifies a gap and makes a plan to provide direct services to fill it.
FINE’s Metrics Project is designed to provide a comprehensive data-driven snapshot of the farm to institution market across the six New England states. Our metrics work combines powerful stories with data-based findings and recommendations which are shared regularly with key audiences including funders, elected officials, government staff, and other decision makers on state, regional, and national levels. Metrics work products are available through various deliverables including a series of three detailed research reports that include findings from original surveys of (1) distributors, (2) producers, and (3) institutions of higher education; state profiles for the six New England states that highlight key state-level indicators; and an interactive farm to institution metrics dashboard. FINE is a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE MissionWorks.
FINE seeks a qualified intern who can support our ongoing metrics work and collaborate on the reimplementation of our 2015 campus dining survey. The intern will also have the opportunity to support other projects within the organization.
The internship will require a commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week for three to four months over the summer. Hours and date range are flexible depending on the candidate’s availability.
