Taproom Food Curator 

Lawson’s Finest Liquids' mission statement reads in part, “to provide beers of the highest quality and freshness.” We are also committed to providing our customers with memorable food experiences to pair alongside our beverages. We are seeking the right person to assist us in keeping this a reality. This position plays a key role in providing exemplary light food service to elevate the Lawson’s Finest customer experience in our Taproom. Our model is tasting plates of local artisan products. Items prepared without the cooking elements of a full service kitchen. We want our guests to experience palate pleasing beer & food sensory experiences with items such as local charcuterie, cheeses, breads, pickled love etc. etc. The menu will be constantly evolving and will showcase a rotating cast of seasonally available items. The ideal candidate: 

* Loves both food & interacting with people - we have a self-service kitchen window so you will engage with the folks you are serving
* Has a passion for and a keen sense of the craft beer industry, its food, fan culture and their expectations
* Has experience in the hospitality industry and employs strong customer service skills
* Is extremely organized, detail oriented, and has strong follow through with tasks
* Displays solid time management, discerning prioritization skills, and is self-motivated
* Possesses excellent communication skills, is honest, and hard-working 

Primary Responsibilities:
* Greet customers cheerfully and encourage an atmosphere of hospitality in the Taproom
* Engaging with each customer directly, giving each the attention they deserve, and making them feel welcomed while working to meet their needs quickly and efficiently
* Collaborate with Taproom Manager & Operations Director to plan and price menu items
* Create guidelines for portion sizes, food preparation and presentation
* Maintain profitable food cost percentages
* Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with VT Department of Health Guidelines
* Ensure all staff adhere to proper food sanitation & handling procedures
* Oversee the training of kitchen personnel for safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils
* Maintain appropriate cleaning schedules for entire kitchen area including equipment
* Manage food product ordering and inventory processes to ensure proper quantities and quality for service
* Follow standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing taproom & food service operations 

Requirements & Expectations:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation and expediting
* Willingness to work holidays, nights and weekends as a regular work schedule
* Must thrive working independently and demonstrate a positive personality
* Physically capable of a variety of duties including but not limited to repeated lifting of 30 pounds or more, and extended amounts of physical activity with prolonged standing and talking
* Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time
* A willingness to perform other duties as assigned
* Must be an effective communicator
* This position reports directly to the Taproom Manager 

Compensation
* We offer a generous total compensation package for the right individual. Starting salary is commensurate with experience and benefits include paid time-off, paid holidays, company medical, dental, and 401k plan with company match.
