Deli Assistant

The Springfield Food Co-op is looking for a Deli assistant to join our team. Position is Tuesday-Saturday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. This position supports our Deli Manager in preparing a wide range of to-go sandwiches, salads, hot meals, and other daily offerings for our loyal and growing customer base. This position also includes some merchandising responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • Friendly customer service with a sense of urgency
  • Loves to learn and take on challenges
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Stays calm under pressure
  • Able to handle a variety of tasks
  • Familiarity with or interest in natural foods
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet for 8 hours
  • Prior experience working in commercial kitchen and knowledge of food safety practices
