Cheese Cut & Wrapper- Part-Time, On-Call (Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company)

VFCC has several positions open for Part-Time, On-Call, Cheese Cutter and Wrappers to work periodically in our Windsor, VT facility. This position will report to Manager of the Cut Wrap Department, and, as part of a team, is responsible for safely preparing retail-sized pieces of cheese for shipment to our customers. This includes cutting large block of cheese into smaller ones, inserting them into packaging, sealing the packaging, labelling the packaging, and using technology to accomplish all of these things, as well as checking cheese in and out of inventory. Also required is regular preparation, clean-up and sanitization of the facility before and after cutting & wrapping tasks. 

Job requirements

  • Must be able to attend all paid trainings and participate actively in learning the job
  • Must report to work on time
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in cool and climate-controlled environments for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs safely, and in coordination with others
  • Must be able to read, understand, and adhere to all food safety requirements
  • Must be able to read, understand and adhere to all cleaning protocols
  • Must be comfortable working with equipment such as a vacuum sealer and a cheese cutting machine
