The warehouse worker/CDL-B driver position involves driving, loading, and unloading Vermont Foodbank vehicles at various sites in Vermont, New England and New York.  This position will also include receipt, warehousing, fulfillment, inventory, management and picking of all products stored at the Vermont Foodbank.

General Responsibilities:

  • Works cooperatively and be able to communicatewith staff and volunteers to support the mission of the Foodbank to meet and sustain Foodbank goals.
  • Positively contribute to an organizational culture of safe and secure food handling, warehousing and distribution.
  • The Foodbank relies on volunteers every day to fulfill our mission. All Foodbank employees must support our culture of philanthropy by treating every volunteer with appreciation and respect.
  • Ensure the proper sanitary and safe warehousing of all products in accordance with Feeding America and Vermont Foodbank guidelines.
  • Efficiently and safely pick up and deliver products as assigned and compute proper paper work to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Maintain vehicles in a high state of cleanliness.
  • Maintain a neat personal appearance, professionalism in all interactions with other staff, the public, and the clients the Foodbank serves.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in the fleet safety booklet regarding reporting accidents, daily vehicle checks, completing associated paperwork, and substance abuse.
  • Accept, receipt, store and stage all products.
  • Deliver products to all supported agencies and individuals.
  • Complete and send in all IFT materials.
  • Accept, receipt, store and stage all products.
  • Pick and invoice orders as needed.
  • Have the ability to make (or learn to make) inventory transfers, client/agency invoices, pick tickets.
  • Have the ability to complete (or learn to complete) all receiving paperwork and complete receiving transactions in the Ceres software.
  • Run forklift, electric pallet jack.
  • Load/unload trucks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control procedures.
  • Routine facilities maintenance including sweeping, cleaning, floor maintenance, trash removal, etc.
  • Take part during physical inventory.
