Vermont Packinghouse is Currently looking to fill 2 production meat cutting positions.

 

Hours: Full time 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, M-F (occasional weekend work)                                     Start Date: 5/18/2018

Vermont Packinghouse specializes in natural and organic meat products, from slaughter to fully cooked. Our goal is to be the most sophisticated niche meat processor in New England, producing healthy, delicious products in beautiful packaging.

This position will be focused on properly identifying and cutting primal, sub-primal and portion cuts from various red meat species of animals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Properly identify primal cuts and sub-primal cuts of Beef, Pork and Lamb to produce the proper cuts reflected on the order sheet.

  • Maintaining a sharp knife and learning knife skills.

  • Practice accurate food safety techniques set forth in our HACCP plan.

  • Work with the rest of the team to ensure production goals are met and product is ready for shipment on time.

  • Moving carcasses in the cooler.

  • Labeling Bins correctly and running Pallets and Combos as orders are finished.

  • Properly deboning cuts to orders and start to learn all cuts.

  • Communicate quality issues to supervisor.

  • Participate at end of day clean up including:

    • Disassembling and rinsing all equipment and hand tools.

    • Rinsing all tables, cutting boards, and floors.

    • Cleaning gross debris from floor and work stations.

  • Lift 60lbs consistently throughout an 8-hour work day.

  • Work in a 30°F to 45°F environment.

  • Work together as a team!

 

Salary and Benefits: 

  • $13.00 - $17.00+/hr. depending on experience
