Title: Vice President

In 3 years, Vermont Packinghouse has established itself as the premier niche meat processor in New England, producing healthy, sustainable, and delicious products in beautiful packaging. We receive livestock and send out products within a 5-hour-car-travel radius. We have grown to over 50 staff and slaughter over 300 animals, of mixed species, every week. Our staff is young and energetic, and our customer base ranges from very small backyard farmers to Fresh Direct and Whole Foods.
The Vice President is a new executive position and will have general oversight of the company in cooperation with the Managing Partner. The position will have an orientation towards business management, rather than production, including external and customer relations, HR, regulatory/legal, budgeting, and business planning. Experience in the meat industry is not required. We are still a small company, and rapidly growing, so other things will certainly come up.

- Ability to prioritize and organize one’s time and that of delegates.

- Farming experience
- Familiarity with food processing sanitation protocols and HACCP
- Experience in the food industry
- Ability to drive a forklift, in a pinch
