Food Connects Welcomes New Sales Manager

Food Connects is excited to welcome Julicia Myers to their team as their Food Hub Sales Manager.

Julicia joins the team from Canajoharie, NY where she worked as the Agricultural Economic Development Program Coordinator for Montgomery County. As part of her multifaceted role there, she promoted local products, helped farmers diversify their operations, and managed a variety of grants in support of the Montgomery County agricultural community. 

“I am excited to start at Food Connects,” says Julicia. “I am drawn to the idea of local food distribution. Local purchasing keeps local dollars in the local economy.” 

In addition to her passion for local food, Julicia’s background in leveraging economic development through marketing tools will help support Food Connects’ producers. Myers hails from a strong agricultural background—she was raised on a dairy farm in Northern, NY and was part of a variety of agricultural-based organizations including Future Farmers of America, 4-H, Farm Bureau, and the Dairy Promotions Program. Additionally, she has her Bachelors of Science Degree in Agricultural Business Management from SUNY Cobleskill. 

“Julicia’s experience with farmers and growing markets will not only help our organization thrive but the businesses of our producers and customers as well,” says Alex McCullough, Food Hub Manager. “We are excited to harness her unique insight into local food economies and agricultural practices.”

Food Connects is an entrepreneurial non-profit that delivers locally produced food as well as educational and consulting services aimed at transforming local food systems. The Food Hub aggregates and delivers from over 60 local farms and food producers to over 120 buyers in southeast Vermont, southwest New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts. Our educational services focus on a Farm to School program. Acknowledged as a statewide leader, the program supports over 30 schools to increase local food purchasing, school meal participation, and food, farm, and nutrition education. Together these core programs contribute to a vibrant local economy by increasing local food purchases by schools and improving students’ nutrition and academic performance. Additionally, Food Connects is frequently hired to provide leadership and consulting services for efforts aimed at transforming local food systems in the New England region.
