Free Crepe Day

Each year, the Skinny Pancake celebrates International Crepe Day with the gift of free crepes. Please join the Skinny Pancake on Thursday, February 1st at their Burlington Waterfront, UVM, Montpelier and Hanover locations for this celebration. They will give away free crepes all day long at all locations listed other than the UVM location where Free Crepe Day will run from 2pm-10pm.

“International Crepe Day: when the world stops to celebrate the greatest carbohydrate since sliced bread.” Founder / Owner Benjy Adler explains: “We’re ‘crepeful’ beyond words for the support and enthusiasm of our community. With the holidays in the rearview mirror, we want to keep the gift of giving going by celebrating the singularity that is ‘The Crepe’.”

For Free Crepe Day in 2018, The Skinny Pancake will be featuring their brand new ChocoNutty crepe with its rainforest-approved, palm oil-free chocolate hazelnut spread alongside the new Maple SugarShack crepe. In recent news, The Skinny Pancake made the big announcement that they had forgone Nutella in favor of a new, more sustainable chocolate hazelnut spread. An informative blog post about this weighty decision can be found on their website.

Free Crepe Day will also feature a naming contest for this chocolate hazelnut spread. “The winning name will be selected by a panel of career crepe enthusiasts,” explains Adler. The winning submission will get a year’s supply of this new chocolate hazelnut spread. The Skinny Pancake hopes to take this soon-to-be-named product to retail markets across the region.

“Are you feeling ‘crepeful’ too?” Adler asks. The Skinny Pancake will be accepting donations in lieu of payment on Free Crepe Day for several local non-profits. At the Burlington Waterfront  donations will go to Burlington’s Intervale Center. In Montpelier, donations will be sent to Salvation Farms. In Hanover, NH, any donations collected will be sent to Vital Communities’ ‘Valley Food and Farm’ initiative..
