Jen's love for local food and farms began in 1998 with work on a small farm on the craggy coast of Inismore, Ireland. Jennifer brought her new-found appreciation for hand-grown food back to the Philadelphia area and became The Fair Food Farmstand’s first volunteer. She spent the next 15+ years getting hands-on experience on farms and in dynamic retail operations. Her farming career began at the 138-acre Willow Creek Orchards, Montgomery County’s first Certified Organic farm, initially as the Shed Manager and went on to become the General Manager. Knowing there was more to learn about how to run a business, Jennifer took the leap into several leadership roles spanning both for, and nonprofit enterprises, creating innovative public programs and spearheading development of workshops and special events, wedding/catering programs and farmers’ market. Ultimately, she returned to Willow Creek, managing two farm hubs with a focus on farmer training, working with her teammates to create the Tri-State CRAFT program, now integrated into PASA's SOIL Institute initiative. As a full-time local food and farm business consultant serving clients from PA to VT, Jennifer now guides marketing, branding and business development strategies for KTC as it's co-founder. Her client work focuses on on-farm market development, branding, marketing and sales, operations, non profit strategy and interim leadership. She also acts as team leader for KTC’s Special Projects, such as the nationally recognized Philly Farm & Food Fest and PA Produce Month. Jennifer has served on several nonprofit boards and advisory committees including the PASA Eastern Regional Advisory Committee, PaWAgN and Urban Tree Connection.
