Are you seeking to improve your organization’s capacity to communicate effectively? Do you need a kick-start to launch a new communications initiative? In this half-day, skillshare-style training, a panel of communications mavens will present creative solutions to common challenges faced by Northeast food system organizers. This session is designed for both communications professionals and beginners; everyone is welcome.
Nonprofit organizations often have limited staffing resources and communications budgets, which is why this training will focus on strategies that can be accomplished with minimal time and money. Through a combination of four short presentations followed by mini “curbside consulting” workshops, together we will explore efficient approaches to using websites, email marketing, social media, photography, graphics and other channels to connect with our constituencies, share knowledge and resources, and inspire people with stories. There will be ample time for collaborative problem-solving, tip-sharing and brainstorming.
The training is part of the annual Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Groups (NESAWG) "It Takes a Region" conference on November 10-12, 2016. Come to this training to learn new communications strategies, share your ideas and best practices, and get your questions answered.
Session Organizers: Kaitlin Haskins, Farm to Institution New England; Johanna Rosen, Food Solutions New England; Tracy Lerman, Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Groups
