On May 2nd, our “pre-conference” day, we will be offering a 3-hour class on procuring local foods for school meals programs. This class will be taught by Danielle Fleury of USDA’s Farm to School Program. May 3rd will feature a keynote presentation on food psychology by Adam Brumberg of the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics in Childhood Nutrition, followed by 3 shorter workshop sessions. These sessions include “Local Foods in the Child and Adult Care Food Program,” “Sea to School,” “Local Smarter Scratch Cooking” and “Spring Spouts.”
The conference provides professional development opportunities for child nutrition staff at schools, daycare centers, and summer meals programs in Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire. Farm to School coordinators, school nurses, administrators, and others involved in child nutrition programs are all welcome to attend.
