Black River Produce, 449 River Street
North Springfield, VT
Looking for great, local food and a chance to network with forward-thinking business and nonprofit leaders? Black River Produce will host a Networking Get-Together for members and friends of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) on October 24th. The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and feature a chance to peek behind the scenes at the distributor’s headquarters in Springfield.
“Since 1978, Black River Produce has been distributing quality, locally grown product throughout New England, partnering with more than 600 growers and producers with a team of over 200 employees,” said VBSR executive director Jane Campbell. “They are a great example of how a business can be engaged in the community, support local producers, invest in environmental stewardship, and have a successful bottom line. We are excited to have a chance to show our members, guests and the local community how Black River remains rooted in Vermont after nearly 40 years.”
Guests will have a chance to tour the facility, network with forward-thinking business professionals, hear more about Black River’s journey, and enjoy local hors d’oeuvres provided by the hosts. Campbell noted that the event is open to the public and is free for VBSR members as well as state and elected officials, and is $10 for nonmembers.
The October Networking Get-Together hosted by Black River Produce is part of a statewide series dedicated to helping connect like-minded business leaders and share knowledge, tips, and techniques around the triple-bottom-line approach to business. The event is proudly sponsored by Efficiency Vermont; Engineering Ventures; Let’s Grow Kids; Merritt & Merritt; Rooted in Vermont; The Vermont Child Care Industry and Careers Council; and Vermont Rural Ventures.
