Planning Ahead, by Looking Back: Record Keeping & Crop Planning with ACORN

Tandem 26 Main Street
Bristol, VT

Hey you farmers! Have you started planning for next season yet? Or have you thought about it, looked at the piles of dirty scraps of paper, duct-taped binders, and miscellaneous notebooks and gotten so overwhelmed that you went back for another leftover Christmas cookie? ACORN & VT Young Farmers Coalition have partnered to host a peer-to-peer workshop. We will share ideas, spreadsheets, and notebook layouts that should help you sort out and prioritize your 2017 notes in order to be able to actually use them to plan for a more streamlined and productive 2018 season.

This farmer-to-farmer gathering is focused on learning systems of record keeping from each other. This is about sharing, so we ask that you bring your notebooks, print-outs and even your laptops to showcase what you are doing. No records? Embarrassingly disorganized records? Muddy, ripped up, goat chewed records? No problem. Come with what you have, be prepared to share and learn to tackle 2018 with new ideas.
