3727 Vermont Route 15
The next event in Rural Vermont's Pitchfork Series is in partnership with The Farm Between. We'll be exploring the use of pesticides and herbicides in Vermont. John Hayden will provide a tour of The Farm Between and its goals and practices in relationship to pollinator and insect health; a panel will provide information and perspective on policy, research, practices, and responses (on and off farm) related to pesticide use; and there will be time for socializing as we enjoy pizza from NOFA’s wood-fired oven and snow cones! Join us and take away a better understanding of pesticides, policy related to pesticides, and what people and communities in Vermont - on and off the farm - are doing in response.
Rural Vermont's Pitchfork Series was conceived and launched in late 2017, following our Groundswell tour. The Pitchfork Series: Deep Dialogue about Issues Impacting Vermont’s Working Landscape and the People Who Depend On It is a multi-year, multi-format program of events held in communities across the state that digs deeper into the issues that were voiced most emphatically and frequently on the Groundswell tour.
Rural Vermont's mission is to lead the resurgence of community-scale agriculture through education, advocacy, and organizing in support of Vermonters living in deep connection to one another and to the land that nourishes us all.
