During Ag Lit Week, NOFA Vermont Farm to Community Mentors facilitate the organization of local events at schools, libraries, farms, and other community centers. These activities could include farm tours, discussions, potluck gatherings, and more.
Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, Chuck Ross, has been promoting Ag Literacy across the state, saying, "Ag literacy - understanding the 'who,' 'what,' and 'how' of where food comes from - came naturally to our parents and grandparents, who were closely connected to farming. It is essential that we instill this same understanding and appreciation in future generations."
