Real Organic Project Symposium: April 3 & 4, 2020 | Dartmouth College |

The Real Organic Project 2020 Symposium: Earth in Human Hands

The Real Organic Project announces the second annual Dartmouth symposium, “Earth In Human Hands- A Path Forward.” We will face the ways in which agriculture impacts us as a species. We will look at how real organic farming is critical to our health, our survival, and how we lead the way to the changes needed.

The symposium will be held at Dartmouth College on Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th. Our April 4th evening keynote speaker will be Paul Hawken. Paul will continue the conversation that he began with Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming. In addition, a series of TED-style talks discussing the ways in which climate, nutrition, food, politics, and money are all intimately tied together and affecting our industry.

Additional speakers include Representative Chellie Pingree (Maine), Emily Oakley (farmer), Hugh Kent (farmer), Tyrone Hayes (Berkley professor), Paul Holmbeck (Policy Director from Organic Denmark), Peter Whoriskey (Washington Post journalist), Javier Zamora (farmer), JM Fortier (author and farmer), Alan Lewis (Policy Director Natural Grocers), Anne Ross (activist involved in fighting grain fraud), Fred Provenza (retired professor Utah), David Zuckerman (VT Lieutenant Governor and farmer), Michael Sligh (former NOSB), Harriet Behar (farmer and former NOSB), David Mortensen (NOSB and professor UNH), Paul Muller (farmer), Jennifer Taylor (farmer), Dave Chapman (Executive Director for Real Organic Project), and Linley Dixon (ROP Associate Director, farmer, and Ph.D. plant pathologist).
