Gardener's Supply, 472 Marshall Avenue
We invite gardeners and gastronomes to welcome spring with an evening escape at Gardener’s Supply in Williston.
“Artful Eating and Gardening: A Benefit for the Vermont Community Garden Network” will feature stunning tablescapes and local refreshments, remarks by food writer Ed Behr, and the company of gardening and fresh food enthusiasts eager for the first signs of spring.
From 4:30 to 7 p.m., guests may tour the lush, fragrant Gardener’s Supply greenhouse and discuss tablescaping and other topics with Gardener’s experts. At 6 p.m., Ed Behr, author of 50 Foods: The Essentials of Good Taste and The Art of Eating, will speak about the joy and beauty of fresh food. Behr and VCGN board member Ellen Ecker Ogden, garden designer and author of The Complete Kitchen Garden, will also sign books and answer questions about growing and eating good food.
Throughout the evening, Sugarsnap will serve creative, 50 Foods-inspired refreshments made from scratch using delicious local cheeses, meats, vegetables and more. A cash bar will also be available.
Generously hosted by Gardener's Supply and Sugarsnap, with free seeds from High Mowing Organic Seed Company and support from Phoenix Books.
The Vermont Community Garden Network is a nonprofit organization that supports, and connects the state's 300+ garden groups and provides hands-on garden education for youth and adults in Burlington. VCGN works to ensure that everyone has access to garden space, and the information, resources, and encouragement needed to be successful.
We believe in the power of people growing food together to reduce hunger and build community!
