"Feeding the Soils, the Plants, and the Community" is this year's theme for our Annual Northwest Crops and Soils field day. Please join us on Thursday, July 24th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for this information filled field day, as well as a great BBQ lunch. Cost is $25 per person and there is no charge for farmers (but you still must register).

Highlights include - perennial grass varieties, pod-irrigation systems, cover crop mixtures and interseeding, winter forages, summer annuals, no-till cropping and manure injection, alternative fertilizers, oilseed varieties, flax weed control, and our new hop ranch.
Three afternoon tours will be offered -
- a SOIL HEALTH TOUR to highlight strategies to improve your soil. Frank Gibbs, NRCS soil health expert from Ohio will give you a hands-on tour of the soil and how to evaluate soil health on your farm.
- a GRAIN TOUR will be focused on growing grains for food grade markets. Special guests, Andrea and Christian Stanley of Valley Malt in Hadley, MA, will teach us the latest information about malting grains.
- a HOPS TOUR is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about growing hops in the Northeast. The tour will focus on fertility and irrigation systems for this crop.
