Intervale Center, 180 Intervale Road
Organic fruit farmers Nancy and John Hayden, of The Farm Between, are conscious of all the hard work that native pollinators do on their farm. After they noticed a decline in bumble bee and native bee populations on their land about seven years ago, they decided to take action to be more “pollinator proactive,” creating a pollinator sanctuary in their 14-acre back pasture. Join us for an evening in the field with John to learn about how you can support native pollinators in your own backyard!
We’ll start out at 5 p.m. sharp, with a brief presentation in the Intervale Center’s Community Barn, then take a walk through Intervale hedgerows and fields to identify native pollinator habitat and, hopefully, find some native pollinators (like bumble bees and solitary bees) themselves! We’ll finish up with some light refreshments provided by Healthy Living Market & Café.
