Joe Emenheiser, UVM Extension Livestock Specialist, will introduce some basics of chicken biology and how to apply them to ensure healthy, productive birds. The discussion will focus on the digestive and reproductive systems, along with some basics of chicken behavior.
Joe Emenheiser was raised on a small family farm in Pennsylvania. His livestock experience includes managing sheep farms in New York, butchering, genetic evaluation, teaching, and judging. Joe seeks to help Vermont's diversified livestock farms improve their efficiency, product quality, and marketing.
