LEDC SPONSORS WORKSHOP ON HOW TO HIRE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

It’s true…hiring the right employees is a critical business management function that helps you get more done, grow your business, lighten your load and broaden the skills and capabilities of your company.  It can also be a significant expense, energy drain and distraction when your selection process fails.  This workshop will provide you with a strong foundation of knowledge and practical tools to use whether you’re hiring your first employee or the 100th.  You’ll be guided through an overview of the legal issues of interviewing and hiring, determining your priorities for skills as well as how to efficiently prescreen, interview and select your employees.  You will leave this workshop with techniques and interview questions in hand aimed at helping you choose the best people so you can hire right the first time.  The presenter is Deborah S. Eibner, MA, an Area Business Advisor for the Vermont Small Business Development Center.  She is also a Certified Business Coach and Certified Job and Career Development Coach.  She has over 20 years of real world business and human resources experience to bring to the people with which she works.  This event is being co-sponsored by the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation and the Vermont Small Business Development Center.  It will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park from 9:00 AM until noon.  The cost is $49 and pre-registration is required.  To register please go to www.vtsbdc.org (click on the Training tab) and follow the instructions.  You may also contact Vicki Blanchard at dblanchard@vtsbdc.org or call 728-9101.  For further information call John Mandeville at 888-5640 or email at john@lamoilleeconomy.org
