Kingdom Farm and Food Days offers a full menu of choices for tours of local farms and food-related events.
It all starts in Hardwick with Draft Animal Power Network demonstrations at Atkins Field on Friday, August 14, where the 802 Fresh local food truck will be on hand. Later in the day Atkins is the host site for the Hardwick Farmers Market. The Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center offers local fare further north in the Kingdom.
Saturday morning the Craftsbury Farmers Market is open. People can see a working farm and brewery in one visit at Kingdom Brewing in Newport. On Saturday participants can tour Pete's Greens and Sterling College in Craftsbury, the Caledonia Spirits distillery in Hardwick and Log Cabin Alpacas in Albany.
On Sunday Eden Ice Cider in Charleston offers orchard tours and workshops and cider tastings. High Mowing Organic Seeds have field trial workshops and a huge local meal, all free, prepared by the New England Culinary Institute, with a bonfire and music to follow.
