Demystifying Sanitizers in Produce Washing Workshop

Confused about PPMs, labels and what sanitizer to use when washing produce? Come to a three hour workshop at beautiful Edgewater Farm. In this hands-on workshop you will learn by doing:

  • the differences between bleach and PAA-based sanitizers for washing produce
  • how to dispense and use sanitizers safely
  • how to calculate the appropriate amount to use for washing produce and cleaning contact surfaces

This workshop is funded in part by the Specialty Crop Block Grant at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets; a grant through the USDA Risk Management Agency; and UVM Extension.

Because this is a hands-on workshop, registration is limited to 18 participants.
