Join Origins of Food for an Extended Weekend Full of Food Discovery!
From the cheesemaking that Vermont is famous for to traditional Italian charcuterie, from ancient yogurt and kombucha fermentation methods to the top craft beers, ciders, wine and spirits, our aim is to show you as much behind the scenes artisanal food production as possible in one weekend!
This program will be interactive opportunity to engage with farmers, food producers, distillers, brewers and others who are working hard to bring local, delicious and sustainable foods to their community.
And, of course, there will be enough delicious farm-to-table local and seasonal meals to fulfill anyone's nostalgic dreams of Vermont. You'll be visiting in peak harvest time when tomatoes are at their juiciest, corn is at its sweetest and zuchinni are out of control. Prepare for some of the freshest culinary experiences both homemade and at some of the region's top locavore venues.
In addition to completing a variety of workshops, and partaking in various discussions relevant to sustainable food production, we will also take advantage of Vermont's natural landscape. The Green Mountain State offers summer pastoral beauty with a backdrop of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
We will be staying at the beautiful Golden Well Farm & Apiaries' Bed and Breakfast, just north of Middlebury, situated next to the bubbling New Haven River.

How to Apply
Please fill out the application through our website . The application and a $400 deposit will secure your spot.
This includes double occupancy accomodation in a B&B*, transportation around the Champlain Valley, all meals (with the exception of two lunches), workshops, and two guides. Costs not included are transportation to Vermont, alcohol, and personal spending money. *Private bathroom and single occupancy are available for a premium.
We require a 6 person minimum to run this trip and will cap the group size at 12.
If the minimum is not met, we will refund your deposit.
