Vermont is known nationwide for its forward-thinking and innovative efforts to enact social change – and you can be part of that change. Join Vermont’s fight against food insecurity on this impactful service program, where you’ll take part in projects at community gardens, farms, and non-profits. Get your hands dirty working outdoors helping with weeding, planting, harvesting and distributing produce to local food pantries. When you’re not working the land, learn about efforts like Vermont’s Farm to Plate Initiative, aimed at creating jobs in the farm and food sector and improving access to healthy local food for all Vermonters. Hear from agricultural experts dedicated to decreasing Vermont’s dependency on non-local food, and experience first-hand the power of the local food movement.
