On Sept. 1 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the rules for the new dairy margin protection program authorized by the 2014 Farm Bill. To help dairy farmers understand these rules and learn how the program works, free informational workshops will be offered at several Vermont locations in October.
