The deadline to register for the Vermont Tourism Summit (April 4–5) is March 31st. Governor Phil Scott will kick off the summit on Thursday, April 4th with welcome remarks to attendees. Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing (VDTM), Wendy Knight will give the department overview on Friday morning.

This one-day Summit at Vermont Technical College in Randolph will feature a morning plenary with Frank Franciosi (US Composting Council) as Keynote speaker, a State of the State by Josh Kelly, ANR/DEC’s Materials Management Section Chief, four concurrent morning and afternoon workshops, and a special side event on Community Composting BMPs. This year’s Summit includes sessions on the use of compost products for storm water management, organics hauling, research, climate change, and outreach models to help communities and residents meet the State’s organics diversion, food rescue, and food scrap recycling goals.

Come see some of the exciting changes we have made and get to know the plants that are ready for you to take home. We will close out the day with our annual cocktail party co-hosted with Caledonia Spirits. Food and additional beverages will be provided by Farmers and Foragers. This is a great evening full of friends, old and new, enjoying plants, greenhouses and each other. All of our greenhouses will be open and you can wander through and embrace that spring is indeed here.
