The Intervale Center in Burlington, Vermont seeks a full-time Development Coordinator (II) to join our growing organization. The Development Coordinator (II) is a member of the Center’s development team, providing critical leadership in events, community engagement, and business partnerships. They also support the execution of grants, appeals, communications, and other strategies as needed. An ideal candidate has at least three years of experience working in events logistics and two years of experience in fundraising or sales, is clear in their written and verbal communications, and is excited to grow with our team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistics management for all Intervale Center events, including house parties and our annual fundraising dinner, the Midsummer’s Feast.
  • Manage Summervale and Wintervale events.
  • Coordinate other select community and development event programs.
  • Manage inquiries and scheduling for Community Barn and other facility rentals. Track revenue from rentals.
  • Develop and implement corporate engagement and sponsorship programs. Solicit sponsorships, steward relationships, and cultivate, manage and track corporate volunteerism and events.
  • Act as an important ambassador and public face of the organization.
  • Manage event volunteers and staff.
  • Support all other development activities as needed, including appeals, communications, donor visits, and grants.
  • Participate in strategic planning and long-term development planning. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in events logistics. A service or restaurant background is a plus.
  • Minimum two years fund development, sales, or equivalent experience with a strong understanding of corporate social responsibility programs.
  • Great customer service and “people” skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and public speaking required. Design and computer skills, including database management, Canva or Adobe Suite, a plus.
  • Strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail. Ability to thrive both individually and in a team.
  • A passion for community food systems, creativity, and the desire to grow into a long-term events and development role.
