General Work Experience: 1-3 years of project management experience in a nonprofit organizational environment

Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree

The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) Program Coordinator will have three areas of responsibility:

  1. Program Coordination and Project Management across all VSJF’s programs and services;
  2. Communications support; and
  3. Office management and program specific vendor contract management

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination

    • Provide logistical and administrative coordination and support to all of VSJF’s programs and service areas (meeting logistics, meeting notes, etc.)
    • Help organize and project manage annual program Gatherings/Summits and other special events
    • Provide administrative support to Program Directors, the Executive Director, and the Flex Fund President
    • Provide excellent customer service to Farm to Plate Network members, assisting with navigating Farm to Plate website, maintaining their profile/user accounts and other crowd sourcing features, as needed
    • Provide excellent ‘customer service’ to meet a wide range of external partners’ needs and answer their questions
    • Project manage annual Farm to Plate sponsorship process
    • Support the development and maintenance of efficient internal organizational systems to facilitate high quality program delivery
  • Communications Support

    • Work with other VSJF staff to maintain databases and assist with content management and user adoption (e.g., Constant Contact)
    • Farm to Plate website project management, curation and updating, including being primary point of contact for external web developers, in partnership with the Communications Director
    • Assist Communications Director with social media and e-newsletter content development
    • Attend and exhibit at events (e.g., Vermont Farm Show, NOFA-VT Winter Conference)
    • Create / update documents for various programs, including design/layout and some content development
  • Office Management

    • Lead and manage program specific vendor contracts and client participation agreements
    • Support the development and maintenance of efficient internal organizational systems
    • Respond to general phone and email inquiries
    • Oversee all maintenance and upkeep of phone, printer and computer systems
    • Manage VSJF staff fun (birthdays, outings, celebrations, etc.)

Qualifications & Desired Attributes:

  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience creating/maintaining efficient organizational systems
  • Strong customer service and outreach skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, especially while supporting multiple programs at once, with strong attention to detail
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, website content management (e.g., Word Press, basic list serv functions), ZOOM, database management, social media technology (e.g., Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter), and Doodle Poll administration
  • Experience in learning new computer programs
  • Comfort with small group facilitation
  • Comfort being involved in website, and other major project design processes
  • Team player, sense of humor, and positive, can-do attitude
  • Personally driven to make a difference
  • A commitment to sustainable economic development
  • Ability to travel as the job requires (mostly within Vermont)

Compensation This is a full-time, permanent, exempt position. Salary will be commensurate with experience and available funding. Employee health and dental insurance, generous paid time off, plus up to 3% SIMPLE IRA retirement contribution. Position will be a combination of in-office and remote work.
