American Flatbread, located on Lareau Farm and Forest in Waitsfield, Vermont is looking for a head chef to lead our fast paced wood-fired pizza restaurant. A strong knowledge of local food is a must along with experience and willingness to work with local farmers. American Flatbread is proud to be a farm to table restaurant. Our 2 acre market garden is managed for nutrient-density and biodiversity. It provides our kitchen with organic fruits, vegetables, eggs, turkeys and pigs. Please note nights and weekends are required.  Requirements: 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience and/or a degree in the culinary arts with concentration in food preparation, nutrition, and management. A willingness to lead the kitchen team and to maintain a positive work atmosphere. Proficient knife skills. Computer proficiency. Strong work ethic Sense of humor and an interest in exploring how to provide food for our customers and community that is delicious, nutritious, beautiful and responsible to our environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Two consecutive days off. Full-time, salaried position $60-$70,000 DOE. Paid time off and holidays, sick leave, 401K, staff meals, access to fresh produce from Lareau Farm.
