Vermont Land Trust: Farmland Access

The Farmland Access program assists farmers by 1) purchasing farms and re-selling them at an affordable price to farmers who submit winning proposals for their use of the farm;maintaining a list of people looking for farm ownership or lease opportunities and contact those on the farm-seeker list as soon as we hear about affordable farms for sale; purchasing conservation easements to make farms affordable; exercising rights reserved in our conservation easements to ensure land continues to be owned by farmers; expanding farm-leasing opportunities; and providing technical assistance (e.g., assist in securing appraisal work necessary for land purchases).
