Annual Slow Food Vermont Membership Drive

Image
If you are unfamiliar with Slow Food, this international organization started in Italy and is committed to addressing environmental, economic and societal issues at the most grass-roots level possible - the dining table.  We believe that a better, cleaner and fairer world begins with what we put on our plates.

Our chapter just launched its own Snail of Approval program for restaurants, and we are involved in the Slow Fish initiative in the Northeast Region.  Our pot luck events and cooking classes are an inexpensive, relaxing way to meet like-minded people.  There are cultural and educational events as well as opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, but mostly, it is a lot of fun.

This month is our annual membership drive.  If our chapter gets the most new members to sign up, the executive director of Slow Food will personally visit our board.  This exposure with the national office would serve Vermont and our region well, and possibly win us some additional support for our programs.  Please consider signing up at secure3.convio.net/sfusa/site/Donation2?df_id=3102&3102.donation=form1, and be sure to designate Vermont as your chapter.

Please contact our membership coordinator, Elizabeth Cullen at ehc@rootconsultingvt.com with any questions.
