Deadline for Delegate Applications is March 23 - Join us at Terra Madre!

This year, the theme of Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto is food diversity as an alternative to industrial agriculture, especially as expressed through Slow Food’s Ark of Taste and Presidia projects. The events also will closely coordinate with the International Year of the Family Farmer. The Slow Food USA delegation will also celebrate the immense human and cultural diversity present in the US.  Thus farmers and producers of Ark of Taste products, as well as people of color, youth immigrants and native peoples, are especially encouraged to apply.  While Terra Madre & Salone del Gusto events are open to the public, there are only 240 delegate spots this year.

The benefits of being a delegate include free admission, housing, food, and ground transportation during the event, as well as an opportunity to showcase your work at Slow Food USA-sponsored booths and events.  Some support may be given to individuals who apply to be delegates yet are waitlisted.  To become a delegate from the US, you must be nominated and fill out an application. For all the information on how to become a delegate, please go HERE.  Slow Food Vermont board members are happy to assist with the application process.  If you need help, please contact Beth Cullen at ehagercullen@gmail.com.

If you'd like to attend with your Vermont products, or are planning to go on your own, please email Mara Welton at slowfoodvt@gmail.com to be included in our activities.
