City Market 2015 Patronage Refund
City Market is excited to announce our 2015 Patronage Refund checks to Members have been mailed out to over 11,280 members. Member purchases totaled almost 68% of Co-op sales in fiscal year 2015, and the City Market Board of Directors has voted to return over $926,000 in cash to Members as this year’s Patronage Refund. On November 6, the Co-op mailed checks to 11,280 Members, with an average check of $82. Almost four cents of every dollar eligible Members spent is being refunded. Read More
Skinny Pancake To Open in Hanover, NH
The Skinny Pancake will be opening a new 4,000 sq ft location in the heart of downtown Hanover, NH in the Spring of 2016. With a mission of building a healthier, safer and more delicious foodshed while creating everyday enjoyment that is fun and affordable, the Skinny Pancake will return hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the Upper Valley economy in the form of purchases from local farms and food producers. Pies for People: Local Food and Collaborative Efforts Feed a Community
This month, volunteers will be turning wholesome excess food that was originally destined for compost into delicious pies. Pies for People, a grassroots event organized by Sterling College, High Mowing Organic Seeds, Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE), and the Hardwick Area Food Pantry, will combine surplus squash purée with donated ingredients to make into 150 pies, which will then be donated across the community. Rural Vermont Celebrates 30 Years: Anniversary Finale on Sunday, November 22nd at Bethel Town Hall
All year long, Rural Vermont has been celebrating thirty years of amplifying the voices of farmers and advocating for a fair food system. On Sunday, November 22nd, Rural Vermont hosts their 30th Anniversary Celebration Finale at 7pm at the Bethel Town Hall with “Farmers Tell Their Stories” and special musical guests Patti Casey, Colin McCaffrey, and Pete Sutherland.
