With a shifting federal landscape, state policy is more important than ever.
With over 85 bills related to ultra-processed food and food dye in school meals, Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) narratives have taken state policy in 2025 by storm. How can farm to school advocates seize this window of opportunity to advance our priorities? NFSN’s September State Policy Roundtable will focus on this question. Come prepared to share your experiences, ask questions, and brainstorm solutions. We’ll be joined by Jessie Gruner from Pinnacle Prevention (AZ) who will share their lessons learned, MAHA-related advocacy examples, and tips moving forward.
Save the dates for quarterly state policy roundtables in 2025. These sessions are designed for both NFSN and partners to share and discuss insights and updates on state-level policy. We welcome new and experienced advocates to share updates from the current legislative session. Please come prepared to share your experiences, collaboratively address challenges, and exchange ideas and plans related to state farm to school policy. Together, we will identify key priorities, discuss advocacy strategies, and explore opportunities for collective action. We will have space for partners to review the current legislative session's successes and challenges, outline areas of interest for future policy, explore top policy topics in-depth, and identify areas of support from NFSN.
