We produce high quality, nutrient dense products for our CSA members. We take pride in fostering healthy and resilient relationships between the farmers, members, and community. We strive to create an economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable lifestyle on our farm.

As stewards of the land, we work to enhance the biology of the soil, promoting the microorganisms, plants and animals that depend on it. Through this work, we engage members of our community in a real and meaningful way. We provide fresh and satisfying food, as well as joyful experiences that reaffirm our connection to each other and to our environment. The byproduct of our approach to land stewardship is the highest quality food we can provide. Not only is the food delicious, but healthier and with a sweeter deeper flavor than what is sold in grocery stores.

We purchased the land for Sweet Eats Farm & CSA in 2010. At that time, we chose to join the Vermont Land Trust in conserving 180 of our 198 acres. The Conservation Easement protects the land against growth and urbanization. It also protects our ability to continue to farm and use the land in environmentally friendly and restorative practices.

Our land is conveniently located along the Connecticut River, a little north and east of St. Johnsbury, VT. We have about 30 acres boarding the river, along which, we have a 50 foot buffer that we allow to grow up naturally in trees and shrubs to protect the river bank. We have wooded areas, rough pasture, and prime pasture, as well as an acre and a half in vegetable gardens. We are growing fruit trees and bushes that will be bearing fruit in the next few years.

We use rotational grazing practices to restore and maintain the soils and pastures. In harmony with our holistic approach to life, we have reserved access from the river to a campsite, nestled in the protection of a treed buffer between two pastures. The campsite is part of the Connecticut River Paddlers’ Trail, and is available to all who choose to paddle the river.

The back of our land merges into the general woodlands of Vermont, and is in the process of being restored for hiking and snowshoeing.
