Facilities & Grounds Associate
The Woodstock Foundation is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Facilities & Grounds Associate for the Billings Farm & Museum (BF&M) in Woodstock, Vermont. The BF&M was established in 1983 and is a primary ongoing project of the Foundation, which owns the Woodstock Inn & Resort as a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary and maintains a partnership with Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park (MBRNHP).
Billings Farm & Museum is singular among America’s historic sites and outdoor museums in offering to its guests the experience of a fully operational dairy farm, engaging programs across the seasons, galleried exhibits, and an award-winning film.
As a member of the Facilities team, the Facilities & Grounds Associate assists the Facilities team with the general maintenance and upkeep of the Museum & Farm buildings and grounds. Carpentry skills preferred. General duties include, but are not limited to, set up and break down for daily programs, equipment maintenance, cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, deliveries and pick-ups, proactive maintenance of grounds and facilities. Working in a team environment, professional and courteous interactions and able to communicate in a friendly and hospitable manner.
1. Basic plumbing skills a plus. Basic carpentry or electrical would be an added bonus.
2. Experience operating equipment (RTV, Small Tractor, Skid Steer, Mower) preferred
3. Basic repairs and maintenance to buildings and equipment.
4. Able to climb and work safely from ladders.
5. Ability to do heavy lifting such as moving tables and furniture, pick up and empty trash receptacles, shoveling snow.
6. Stand for long periods of time during jobs like parking for special events.
7. Ability to work in outside in adverse weather, cold, heat, snow, rain etc.
8. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
9. Maintain valid driver's license.
