Food Hub Director
Vermont Farmers Food Center
251 West Street
Rutland, VT 05701
United States
The VFFC Food Hub Director is responsible for the strategic growth, financial performance, and business development of VFFC’s food hub enterprise. Working closely with the Executive Director and program staff, this position leads the food hub’s strategy for cultivating and expanding direct sales, growing earned revenue, developing customer and market partnerships, and strengthening the financial and operational systems needed to build a sustainable and scalable food hub business.
This role does not manage day-to-day fulfillment, facilities maintenance, procurement, or community programming. Instead, the Food Hub Director ensures these functions are aligned around a cohesive business strategy that advances farmer and producer viability, community food access, and organizational sustainability.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a deep commitment to local food systems and enjoys building collaborative relationships across multiple sectors. This is a full-time, 35 hours per week position. VFFC is committed to a sustainable work environment and strives to structure responsibilities, priorities, and workloads so that employees can effectively perform their roles within a 35 hour work week.
