Boston, MA (February 7, 2019) - Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts (SBN) will host its 8th Local Food and Specialty Crop Trade Show on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at the Curry Student Center, Northeastern University from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The event will offer one-stop shopping for wholesale buyers seeking to expand their offering of local food, including specialty crops, value-added products, meat, dairy and seafood. At this event, buyers will have the unique opportunity to meet 100 local farmers and producers who grow and craft some of New England’s finest foods. Maria Moreira, Executive Director of World Farmers will be the keynote speaker. Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) Commissioner John Lebeaux is a special guest speaker for the event. 

The Local Food Trade Show will feature open floor trading between wholesale buyers and close to 100 producers of locally grown food and specialty products and include expert panel workshops led by industry leaders. The event is free for specialty crop producers. Admission for buyers and attendees is $30.00.

The Specialty Crop portion of the Trade Show is sponsored by Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MassGrown) through a USDA Specialty Crop grant. Trade Show sponsors include Northeastern University, Farm Credit East, Associated Buyers, Harbinger, Costa, Hannaford, Gentle Giant, Longfellow Clubs, and The Williams Agency.
