New Youth Cooking Club Resource from Green Mountain Farm to School
Green Mountain Farm-to-School is excited to introduce a new Middle School Cooking Club Toolkit Resource, developed through a two-year project working with middle school students to create community meals, which featured locally gleaned produce in partnership with Salvation Farms. The toolkit serves as an excellent resource for establishing a comprehensive youth cooking program with community-based food outreach; it also includes tips for organizing a gleaning field trip, in addition to a variety of lesson plans and seasonal, kid-approved recipes.
The toolkit is available on the Green Mountain Farm-to-School website under our Educational Resources link. Learn more at gmfts.org.
This project was made possible through a Farm to School Vision Grant awarded by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets. The project was led by Hilary Rosa, the Food Access Coordinator at Green Mountain Farm to School. If you have any questions about the toolkit, feel free to reach out to her at hrosa@gmfts.org.
