Participants from Italy, South Africa, India, Honduras, the United States, Canada, and dozens of other counties will gather in person and virtually to share on-farm experiences, research, and expertise with their international colleagues. Attendees will include farmers and ranchers, tourism professionals, researchers, educators, agricultural service providers, policy makers, rural economy experts, and more.

The conference will feature over 140 presentations, workshops, and posters. Topics cover every aspect of agritourism, including running and marketing an agritourism business, managing farms stays, promoting rural development, creating regional partnerships, and sharing research and case studies.

In keeping with the experiential nature of agritourism, participants will be able to attend one of eight mobile workshops at local farms. Mobile workshop topics range from “Regenerative Agriculture and Farm-to-Table Agritourism,” to “Italian Farming and Culinary Traditions Vermont Style,” and “Multifunctional Landscape and Multicultural Models of Community Farming.”

IWA is a project of Eurac Research, an international research institution based in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy. Eurac hosted the 1st World Congress on Agritourism in Bolzano in 2018 and chose our local host, the University of Vermont Extension, to run the 2022 event.
