Regeneration Corps (RC) is a newly launched learning collaboration between educators, farmers, students, and leading organizations in resiliency and agriculture. We train youth in agricultural literacy, social and environmental justice, and community organizing, with a focus on hands-on, place-based learning. This program is rooted in Vermont's existing Flexible Pathways and Proficiency Based Learning initiatives, enabling high school students to earn credit while gaining knowledge and skills in subjects not commonly covered in school curriculums. Designed by a team of educators and organizers, RC helps integrate the most pressing issues of our time into students’ curriculum through community service and experiential learning, while bolstering our local food system and responding to acute needs in the pandemic.
This project's current partner organizations are Vermont Healthy Soils Coalition, Rural Vermont, Community Resilience Organizations, Change the World Kids, Vermont Farm to Plate, Building a Local Economy, and Grow More, Waste Less.
