Sweet Rowen believes strongly in producing high-quality, family friendly dairy products, and selling them to our friends and neighbors within a 100 mile radius of our farm in East Albany, VT. We hope to act as a model to show that dairy farming does not have to be a dying art here in Vermont, but that it can be economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable.

Sweet Rowen Farmstead is a micro-dairy, currently milking 16 cows, many of which are Vermont Heritage Breed Linebacks. We produce bottled, pasteurized, non-homogenized milk and a variety of cheeses. Staff currently includes Paul Lisai, (Owner/Operator) Calista Tarnauskas (Cheese Maker), and Katt Tolman (Milker, Book-Keeper). Our products are available across the Northeast Kingdom as well as in Montpelier, Burlington, Essex, Richmond, Waterbury, Johnson... more locations all the time! We're also currently at the Burlington Winter Farmers' Market. Come Spring, you can find us at the Montpelier and Stowe Farmers' Markets.

Sweet Rowen Farmstead’s mission is to maintain a working landscape that provides families with fresh food, supports the local economy, and upholds the ecological integrity of the environment. We are a grass-based, family-owned and operated dairy farm located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We milk a small herd of Vermont Heritage Lineback cattle.
