The AmeriCorps Farm-to-School Coordinator position at Green Mountain Farm-to-School could be just what you're looking for! Green Mountain Farm-to-School (GMFTS) supports 15 school communities in the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) of Vermont through vibrant school gardens, engaging experiential educational programming, and the joy of fresh, local foods. If you are driven by a love for gardening, eager to inspire elementary students, and committed to enriching local food systems through education, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact!  Develop valuable educational coordination skills as an AmeriCorps member at GMFTS. Throughout the year, members gain experience in leading lesson plans, conducting taste tests, teaching workshops on food and agriculture for K-8 students, planning farm visits, managing school gardens, leading afterschool programs, and creating outreach materials.

Compensation and Benefits

Available to start August 17, 2026, and commit to serve until August 6, 2027, for a 1,700-hour term of Service with AmeriCorps/GMFTS. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a Cost of Living Stipend of $25,500.00 for the year, Healthcare, set rate Mileage Reimbursement, and an Educational Award of $7395.00 at the end of service. GMFTS offers subsidized housing, an Automobile Equity Scholarship, and many training opportunities.
